Selling "Personality Box"
Nevertheless we should improve and do something we have never done. And at this lesson my groupmates and I tried to sell some exercises to each other. All the exercises were connected to the public speaking activity.
My task was "Personality Box". The main idea of this exercise is explained in the video that you can watch in this post.
And now I need to analyze my speech with the help of questions for self evaluation.
1. Did you make an effort to gain the mental attention of your audience in the introduction to your speech?
Yes (If telling about actors and their hands can be considered as a story)
2. Did you clearly state your topic or question?
Yes (it was written on the slide)
3. Did you map the direction your speech was taking?
Yes
4. Did you support yje major ideas with examples, instances, facts, quatations, or proof?
Yes
5. Did your speech have a conclusion (summary, action, appeal)?
Yes (but this conclusion was not very clear)
6. List three areas of your last speech that you believe were the most effective. These may include organization. content, or delivery of the speech.
- the presentation
- the organization
- the content
7. List three weaknesses of your speech. If you believe there were no weaknesses, then list areas where you could have done better.
- the lack of emotions
- long puases during the speech
- grammar mistakes
8. Pick one area of organization or content that you desire to imrove in your next speech.
This area is the conclusion. I think that it's extremely important to make it strong because a good conclusion may make listeners to think over the problem, to get additional emotions.
9. Pick one area of delivery you desire to improve in the next speech.
Definitely, this is the expression of my face. It should be more emotional.

It seems like you are getting better at structuring your speech.
ОтветитьУдалитьI absolutely agree with you that a conclusion is crucial in any type of speech. So this is a good goal to work on in the future.
Thanks!
УдалитьI hope I will manage to change this situation with conclusion for better.
